Tempe is Main food in Indonesia

Tempe is very delicious food from Indonesia. There is a lot of benefit from Tempe.


Tempe is a traditional food from Indonesia. Tempe derived from fermented soybeans and Rhizopus or generally we called “ragi tempeh”. In Indonesia, almost fifty percent Indonesia people consume Tempe. Therefore, the average consumption of Indonesia people is about 6.45 kilograms per person per year.  Indonesia is the biggest trade soybean in Asia.

After all, tempe is often underestimated by some people because the price is cheap and has low-quality. In fact, tempe is very useful for our body health, for instance:

  1. Tempe is potential as antioxidant,
  2. Preventing a cancer,
  3. Reduce bad cholesterol,
  4. Keeping the digestion system,
  5. And as a source of energy.
Besides, Tempe contains of calcium, vitamin B, and zat besi. Tempe is very popular with the people of Indonesia now that around the world. Moreover, a vegetarian usually uses tempe or soy as a meat substitute.

In addition, Indonesia people commonly eat tempe with sayur asam or sambal. There are many variants menu of tempe can be processed like tempe bacam, tempe tepung, tempe goreng, orek tempe, oseng tempe and buncis etc. The point is Indonesia people like tempe and become main food in Indonesia. In fact, tempe is one of my favorite food.
