What, who, where

  1. A: I didn’t bring my laboratory manual today?

= In a biology laboratory

  1. A: This is flight 707 requesting permission to land?
B: Flight 707 you’re cleared to landing.
= he’s a pilot

= In a restaurant
Put something off = phrasal verb
Phrasal verb consists of literal and idiomatic.

  1. A: How much the tips should I live?
B: Oh… a dollar’s plenty. The meal service is very good.
Vocab : service station = pom bensin.

  1. A: Can I pick up my shoes on Tuesday? I need them for party that night.
B: They should be fixed by then.
Vocab: by then = sebelum hari (dikonteks sebelum selasa)
= a shoe repairperson.

Kenapa harus, a shoe repairperson? Bukan a shoes repairperson. Karena, semua kata benda diterangkan oleh kata sifat dan rumusnya harus singular.

  1. A: Did you get picture of the lions?
B: Yes, and now let’s go to other side of the park.  I wanna see the exotic birds.
= at a zoo

  1. A: Could you put the letter in the pending file now?
B: Yes, then I can answer them tomorrow.
= respond to the mail

  1. A: The light flashing everyone’s going in.
B: We should take our seats now before the second act stark.
= in a theatre.
Our seats = noun phrase
The second act = noun phrase

  1. A: Have you responded it to Bob’s invitation yet?
B: I’ll take care of it.
= let Bob know that they accept his invitation.

  1. A: Can you fill this prescription for me?
B: If you leave the prescription. I can have it filled in about ten minutes.

= a pharmacist.
